anyone, young to old, beginning to advance. To help share the love of music with anyone else is such a gift. My only rule is to have fun! Whether we are working on the love story behind a Beethoven sonata and giving voices to the musical lines….or learning what the C note is, all are welcome. Playing the piano uses so many parts of our brains it is incredible. With that being said, it can also be challenging and I am completely aware of that so long as we remember every key has such purpose and beauty so even if you just have one, you are creating music.

Locally I teach in person and instead of having recitals, we have parties. Taking away the stress of the “term” recital and turning it into a celebration helps teach kids they are creating and to have fun performing. For adults, our lives can be so stressful with work; however, when you are playing the piano you can only focus on the music. This helps you escape the rest of the world for the time we have together and I teach them to be able to do that on their own. I also encourage having a glass of wine or beer to help wind down. I teach virtually to students who are too far away and although not the same as being right there, with technology being so advanced, FaceTime works well. Come learn with me!
